The Island Development Agency (OTRA) held first workshops with local action groups in pilot municipalities of Cres and Mali Lošinj (Croatia) on July 20-21, 2020.
During the 2 extensive sessions, which lasted for 4 hours each, around 50 stakeholders and 6 representatives of the partner and external experts, addressed the project goals, tourism status-quo and key year-to-date data on development of tourism flows taking in consideration impacts of COVID-19 pandemic, and did a SWOT analysis of tourism sector in both Cres and Mali Lošinj.
Project partner briefed the attendees on key principles for sustainable tourism development, as defined within the relevant documents and project methodology. Being tourism sector professionals and/or local experts, attendees had no trouble to define a list of initiatives that could result with overall improvement of tourism sector.
This workshop is only the first step in preparing action plans and creating an effective local environment for sustainable tourism in municipalities of Cres and Mali Lošinj in Croatia.
