At the end of August and beginning of September there have been two local action group meetings in Slovenia, one took place on the 28th of August 2020 in pilot municipality Bohinj and the other one was held in Bled municipality, on the 4th of September 2020.
Municipalities of Bohinj and Bled are two of the pilot regions in the SuSTowns project in Slovenia.
Bohinj, Slovenian tourist pearl, got the tag as the best destination in responsible tourism at the International Travel and Tourism Awards at WTM in 2019. In the SuSTowns project it will receive an action plan of solving the problem of mass tourism and directing tourist flows to greener, sustainable and cleaner forms of transport and experiencing the destination. For this purpose there has been meeting with stakeholders on August 2020 and guidelines are being prepared.
Bled is a symbol of the beauty of Slovenia. The Alpine lake with the only Slovenian island impresses with the beauties of nature and special powers to renew well-being.
