The 16th Aragonese Tourism Fair brings together gastronomy, culture, activities and exhibitions for tourism enthusiasts.
From May 13th to 15th, the Palacio de Congresos/Conference Centre in Zaragoza hosted the ARATUR 2022, the 16th Aragonese Tourism Fair, to support tourism and show its potential as a generator of wealth for the territory. ARATUR has closed its 2022 edition with a figure of 13,472 visitors, as a sign of the interest that arouses tourist activity in the autonomous community. For three days the Congress Centre of Zaragoza has hosted the Aragonese Tourism Fair with information on nearly 50 destinations and more than 80 activities scheduled.
ARATUR serves as a platform for tourism promotion to showcase the great cultural, tourist and gastronomic strength of Aragón. The objective is to offer visitors a unique experience to find out about the best destinations, gastronomy and culture offered by the Aragonese community, for a different kind of tourism. It will allow visitors to find out about the best tourist experiences, destinations and itineraries for their holidays in Aragón and Spain in general.
The aim of this edition is to combine the magic of travelling with the gastronomic and artistic culture of each place, the typical products of the land and the many possibilities offered by the different destinations.
ARATUR will present the full range of mountain tourism of Aragón, with its stunning natural parks, mountains, lakes, rivers, green routes, one of the best mountain offers for hikers, mountaineers, bicycle routes, to enjoy nature in its purest state.
There was also the presentation of the Posadas Reales de Castilla y León 2022, a brand of accomodation for rural tourism in Castilla y León, including a prize draw among the visitors, for a stay at one of their accomodation.
Gastronomy and food tasting was a focal point at the fair. Pon Aragón en tu mesa (Aragon on your table), a project in cooperation with Aragonese rural development associations, offered display and tasting of local, rural and artisanal products of Aragón; from honey, marmalades, cheese, walnuts and typical pastries to olive oil, salt of Garnacha wine and garlic, to combine quality, territory and innovation. The Comunitat Valenciana offered tastings of their typical products and show dances of the region. The Cuencas Mineras D.O. offered, instead, olive oil tastings and Ajuntament de Valls artisanal vermouth tastings. Moreover, the Association of cafés and bars offered several Show Cooking, with the opportunity to meet the champions of the Tapas competition 2021.
Music and experiments was also part of some of the activities that visitors had the opportunity to enjoy and participate in, such as the typical Valencian dances and the mobile Planetarium of the Montalbán Astronomical Observatory.
